After a long day of digging in the sand, searching for sea shells and riding the waves you just want some good food and relaxed atmosphere, Pizzoodles is the place to go. It is family owned and run and they make you feel like family the moment you walk in the door. The restaurant is small with only a handful of tables which are situated close together. There is also a pick up window in the back of the restaurant if you are looking to enjoy dinner on the go.

Pizzoodles is known for two things pizza and noodles. They are pretty good at making both. We ordered a few different dishes to get a real taste of their food. We started with the Best Calamari (Yes, Really) and Garlic Knots. The calamari were cooked well, it was not chewy or rubbery and it had good flavor. The garlic knots had good crunchy outside with a soft fluffy inside. The six knots were bathed in a melted garlic herb butter. The garlic knots are big so its great to tear them apart and dip them in extra garlic butter. So far the restaurant was off to a good start.

Pizzoodles is known for pizza and noodles so we decided to have both. Traditionally, we eat family style which is perfect since it allows us to try different things. Our table ordered ravioli with tomato sauce, classic Caesar salad, cheese pizza and personal size pepperoni pizza. The ravioli is clearly made there. The pasta is light and cooked perfectly. The cheese filling was full of flavor. Overall the ravioli itself was delicious, however the tomato sauce that was dumped on top, not so much. The tomato sauce had little to no flavor beside canned tomato. I would suggest ordering the ravioli but with one of the other sauce options. The classic Caesar salad, is just that. A basic Caesar salad. It is always good to have a vegetable with every meal and salads always pair well with Italian food.

Let’s talk about the pizza. First off, I am very picky with my pizza. Growing up in the Northeast I know good pizza. This is not Northeast quality pizza; however, this is very good Florida pizza. On both the cheese pizza and peperoni pizza were cooked thin and crispy and held their form when you picked up your slice. That is important in a pizza. There was a good balance of cheese and sauce. The sauce did not have a balance of tomato to spice and was heavy with the tomato flavor. There was a good balance of cheese to sauce to crust ratio. The pepperoni was not greasy with a good level of spice. Overall, the cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza were very good and we would go back for more.
